SR & Trendlines

This page covers the core SR tools in Market Dynamics. Use these for levels, bias, and cleaner decision points.

Pivot Points levels

Pivot Points plot support and resistance from a higher-timeframe period. They give you repeatable levels to trade reactions from.

What gets plotted

  • S1 / R1: first support and resistance.

  • S2 / R2: second support and resistance.

  • S3 / R3: third support and resistance (optional).

  • MM (midline): range midpoint.

  • MM deviations: two yellow lines around MM for context.

How to read the labels

Left-side labels can show:

  • Level type (S or R).

  • Timeframe (optional).

  • Price (optional).

  • Level name (optional).

Previous-period pivots can be marked with triangles. Treat them as “historical magnets” and reaction areas.

Signals (diamonds)

Signals only print around the key levels.

  • Buy: price retests an S level while oversold.

  • Sell: price retests an R level while overbought.

Enable previous periods when you want more context. Disable it when you want a cleaner chart.

Higher-timeframe pivots (HTF pivots)

You can plot pivots from up to 4 higher timeframes on one chart. These act as bigger, more meaningful SR zones.

Each pivot label can show:

  • The pivot timeframe.

  • Whether it’s a high or low pivot.

  • The price level.

If you’re unsure what to pick, start with one HTF at your chart timeframe. Example: 30m chart → 2h pivots.

Trendlines

ChartPrime trendlines aim to stay clean and actionable. You can control how they’re built and how “macro” they feel.

Key settings

  • Anchor method: draw from wicks or body close.

  • Scale: Small / Medium / Big / Macro.

  • History: show past trendlines or only the current one.

  • Color: fully customizable.

When a trendline “ends”

Trendlines stop when price no longer respects them. Treat ended lines as inactive. Focus on the current line(s).

Predictive Ranges

Predictive Ranges draw a live trading range on your chart. Use the range edges as real-time support and resistance.

Tuning the range

  • Length (lookback): default is 50 bars.

  • For more frequent updates, try 10–20 bars.

MTF SR (multi-timeframe support and resistance)

MTF SR plots classic SR from a different timeframe. It helps you map bigger levels onto a smaller chart.

Use an SR timeframe at least 4× higher than your chart. Example: 30m chart → 2h MTF SR. If the timeframe selected is lower than the loaded timeframe this can produce issues.

Display options (method)

  • Lines: more precise.

  • Zones: more forgiving. Better for fast markets.

Macro vs micro modes

Pick the SR “scale”:

  • Local: short-term levels.

  • Midterm: balanced.

  • Extended: longer-term.

  • Macro: major, infrequent levels.

Data metrics (optional)

When enabled, the label shows:

  1. Rank of significance (1 is strongest).

  2. Price of the level.

  3. Source timeframe used to generate it.

Highs & Lows (MTF)

Show swing highs and lows from higher timeframes:

  • Day

  • Week

  • Month

  • Quarter

  • Year

Use these as SR zones and reversion references. Users are able to adjust their plotting style (lines, dashes or dotted) as well as the thickness.

Key timeframe levels shown on the chart

These levels are vital reference points for all traders giving insights into where the market truly changed direction on key timeframes. These act as future areas of interest for support, resistance, take profit, stop losses and even entries on breakouts.

Users are able to adjust the color, line style and thickness via the settings.
